Coronavirus Unlocking Update

We have not been able to hold our usual meetings at the moment because of the need to keep everyone safe during the Covid Pandemic, however we are holding two small “in-person” meetings as a trial on Sundays 20th and 27th September.

This page will tell you everything you need to know about those trial meetings, how to book and most importantly all we have done to keep you safe. Please read it carefully.

Our trial Sunday “in-person” meetings will be held at 10am in our building and will be socially-distanced and fully follow the latest Government guidelines for places of worship.

Our online Sunday morning meeting will still be broadcast live on WelcomeChurch.online at 9am and 11am, and Welcome Kids at 10am.

Attending a Trial Meeting

There are 3 key steps to attending a trial “in-person” meeting and they are:

1. Book Your Place!

It is very important that you book your place in advance. Places (free of charge) are mostly available for seating in groups of 2, but a limited number of groups of 3 or 4 are also available for larger households. If you attending alone, please book a place for 2 and leave the second seat empty.

You may only sit with people in your household or support bubble and when you book your place you will need to tell us the name(s) of those you will be sitting with. To book your place, click here.

2. Carefully Read Our Safety Guidelines

Your safety is very important to us and we have put a number of safety measures in place that follow the Government guidelines. These include the need for you to wear a facemask the whole time you are at the meeting. Please read all the guidelines below carefully before attending.

3. Arrive In Good Time and Follow Any Guidelines and Instructions From Our Team

On the day all access will only be via the rear car park door. A trained member of our Welcome Team will great you, check you in and direct you to your seat. Please wear a facemask whilst you are in the building, social distance at all times (especially as you arrive and go through pinch points like the entry doors) and please follow all instructions given by the Welcome Team to keep you safe.

A reduced length meeting.
Socialising only with those from your own household or bubble.
Adjusted air handling system to provide high levels of fresh air flow.

Safety Information

Booking Your Place

To enable appropriate physical distancing the capacity of the building is considerably reduced. In order to attend the meeting you must book your place in advance online. That can be done by clicking here.

Seating is prearranged in groups of 2, 3 or 4, and everyone in your seating group must be from your household or bubble. People attending alone should book a seat for 2 and leave the second seat empty.

Travel To Church

Car Parks will be available (we will confirm by email details of these later).

Whilst in car parks, please respect the guidance on meeting others outside your home.

If you are travelling on public transport, please remember to follow all the relevant guidelines including wearing a facemask.

Arrival

When you arrive please enter via the rear car park door.

If necessary, please queue outside at 2m spacings and do not enter the building until the check in area is clear and ready for you.

At the check in area you will be asked your name (to check against booked places and seating plans), if you have any Covid symptoms and to wash your hands for 20 seconds using the sanitiser provided.

If you have parked in the church car park please give your car registration number to the check in team to enter into the parking system.

The team will then direct you to your seat. Please go straight to your seat and remain seated during the meeting.

Please arrive with the others from your household / bubble that you have booked your place with so you can be shown to your seat together.

To help this arrival process run smoothly, and for us to start on-time, please arrive early and ideally between 9:45 and 10am.

Hygiene

The building will be cleaned in line with Covid guidelines.

Hands should be washed / sanitised as you arrive and leave.

Facemasks must be worn at all times by everyone aged 11 and over.

If you have any Covid symptoms, please do not attend but stay at home and enjoy the meeting on the live stream.

Face Masks

In line with the current guidelines we are asking that everyone, aged 11 and over, should bring and wear a facemask at all times.

Facemasks should cover the mouth and nose.

Distancing

The seating has been arranged to meet distancing requirements, please do not move any seats!

You will be shown to your seat (you will not be able to choose a seat) and you should stay seated during the meeting until you are told to leave at the end.

Please arrive with the others from your household / bubble that you have booked a ticket with so you can be shown to your seat together.

We know that you have not seen others in your church family for many months and we would all love to chat, hug and catch up, but please respect the Government guidelines for churches and maintain your physical distance with those from outside your household (feel free to wave from your seat!).

Families, Youth and Children

Children and youth are very welcome to attend but please be aware that under the current guidelines all children and youth must stay quietly seated with their parents throughout the meeting. There will be no childrens’ or youth work.

Welcome Kids will be online at 10am and we recommend that children who cannot sit quietly and listen to the preach would be better served by being at home and watching Welcome Kids Online.

Worship

Our worship band will lead us with a couple of worship songs, but to reduce the risk of air-borne transmission of Covid-19 and in line with Government guidance, we will ask you to listen and meditate on the words and not to sing along.

Toilets

The toilets will be available but we would ask you to only use them if absolutely necessary.

If you do need to use the toilet during the meeting please carefully walk directly to the toilet without interacting with anyone else, stand at the marked waiting spot and wash your hands.

If the toilet is empty a member of the Welcome Team will indicate that it is safe for you to then enter the toilet space.

Please remember to wash your hands again after using the toilets.

At The End of the Meeting

At the end of the meeting please remain seated until you are directed to leave.

People will be dismissed in a specific order to avoid any congestion at doors.

Please leave quietly, maintaining your distance from those outside your household, and please go directly to your car as you leave the building to help us avoid congestion in the car park and outside area.

Covid-19 Symptoms

If you have been diagnosed with or experienced symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 14 days, or if you have been in close contact with someone diagnosed or experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 please stay at home and do not attend the meeting.

If you have returned from international travel, or been in close contact with someone who has returned from international travel, to any country currently on the isolation list in the last 14 days please stay at home.

We are required by the guidelines to remind you that the main symptoms of coronavirus are:
A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back.
A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Track and Trace

By booking a seat at our meeting you are agreeing that your details may be shared, if necessary, with the NHS Track and Trace process in the event of a Covid-19 case being identified.
